Wow — 2026 started fast, and we’re already in February!
We didn’t want to miss the opportunity to update you on our roadmap for the year ahead, especially after a key moment for the team: our 3rd global summit, held last November. That gathering was an opportunity to look back at what we’ve achieved, align on priorities, and define where we’re heading next.
Here’s what came out of it.
Organization: a leadership transition

First of all, this last summit marked an important milestone: The official transition within the management team.
Our beloved Lead Drone, Rich Morris, passed the baton to Amanda, now stepping in as Bee in Charge. Rich remains actively involved in product development, but after years at the helm, he also wanted to step back from the daily rush of company management. Amanda will now drive the company together with Lorenzo, who continues to run European operations.
Since planting the very first seed of BroodMinder, Rich has been deeply involved in shaping a vision that once seemed a little crazy: that bee health could be improved through actionable data.
We owe him a tremendous amount. Many of the things that define where we are today trace back to ideas he had nearly ten years ago. We truly can’t thank him enough.
We stick to the same vision
While many things have evolved over time, our original vision remains unchanged: helping beekeepers better manage their hives through actionable data. Two years ago, at our 2023 summit, we took a key step in that direction by moving from data collection to hive management.
That transition was both deliberate and natural. With a solid data foundation in place, 2026 marks a new phase: turning information into tools that help beekeepers act, not just observe — especially as challenges like varroa, yellow-legged hornets, and emerging pests continue to intensify.
So what does this mean in practice? Here’s a closer look at what we’re building in 2026.
Apiary management features
- QueenMinder (beta)
This spring, QueenMinder will move from MyBroodMinder to Bees App.
For 2026, it will remain a beta feature. Our goal is to engage new users through the mobile experience, gather feedback, and refine the user experience — because for this kind of feature, usability is everything.
- Plants module
The Plants module will also move into the Bees App for the blooming season, allowing you to manage resources directly in the field as you observe the phenological stages of your bees’ favorite plants.
- Pollination monitoring
We will continue investing in pollination monitoring for almonds and seed production in greenhouses, leveraging the full capabilities of BeeDar and BeeTV, and integrating third-party sensors. In 2026, we are introducing soil moisture and solar irradiance measurements to complement hive activity data and support a more data-driven approach to pollination management.
- Yellow-legged hornet
In 2026, we will continue strengthening yellow-legged hornet management and control through our Ornetin brand, building on protection solutions, monitoring, and extensive field experience.
BeeTV: advancing from video and image capture toward machine-assisted detection
BeeTV has made tremendous progress over the past months. It is, without question, the most complex product we’ve ever developed — and nearly the entire team is involved.
What’s new:
- New electronics
- New firmware
- Drastically improved battery life
- Ability to start counting mites, eggs, brood cells, bees...
Varroa counting will be one of our major focus in 2026, and BeeTV plays a central role in that effort.
We expect to have approximately 100 units available by mid-2026.

Scales, hubs, and data accuracy
- W5 scale twins
W5 will be able to pair with a “sister” unit to form a full hive-weight scale, enabling higher stability and improved measurement resolution.
- T91 Cell Hub – improved timestamping
Enhanced time synchronization between hubs and connected devices will significantly improve timestamp accuracy across datasets, strengthening data alignment and downstream analysis.
- All scales – advanced temperature compensation
In addition to the existing physical temperature compensation of the load cells, we are introducing numerical temperature compensation. This work, currently underway, will further improve scale accuracy and unlock new possibilities in data processing. Existing devices are expected to benefit from this improvement.
- WeightMinder – dynamic acquisition
The WeightMinder algorithm dynamically adjusts acquisition rates when sudden weight changes are detected, making key events easier to identify and interpret. This enhancement will be deployed seamlessly through a firmware update.
Making everything better, overall
Some priorities are less flashy, but just as important:
- Battery life
Nobody enjoys changing batteries — even once a year. While scales already benefit from multi-year autonomy, we’ll focus in 2026 on extending battery life for internal sensors and hubs.
- Support & documentation
We are actively updating outdated videos, producing new ones, and continuously raising the overall quality of our documentation and customer support. Producing training content and an extensive FAQ are two key objectives for 2026.
Thanks to AI, our written documentation is now multilingual and continuously updated.
Our next challenge is achieving the same level of accessibility for video content — and we’re actively exploring new technologies to make that happen.
Meeting beekeepers, everywhere

Last but not least — above all, staying connected with beekeepers.
After an amazing time at Apimondia in Copenhagen last September, where we met beekeepers from all over the world, we’re determined to keep that momentum going.
In 2026, we plan to attend shows and congresses across:
- North America: NAHBE, Midwest Honey Bee Expo, South Carolina Beekeepers Association, EAS, …
- Europe : Meliza in Spain, BBKA Spring Convention in the UK, Congrès Apicole UNAF in France.
To exchange ideas, share field experience, and continue building this journey together.
Built together
This roadmap is built with — and for — the beekeeping community, because every hive counts. Your feedback, field experience, and real-world challenges continue to shape what we build and how we build it. We’re looking forward to another year of learning together, improving our tools, and supporting you where it matters most: in the apiary.
Remember ... Every Hive Counts!
